A Gleneagle man's week took a fortunate turn after discovering a week-old lottery win that will significantly impact his family's future.
The Queenslander will bag $400,641.05 only as the $5.2 million jackpot was sliced thin among 13 winners in Saturday Lotto draw 4447 on 2 March, 2024.
Working away from home, he hadn't checked his ticket until prompted by his partner.
“I’ve been working away and honestly didn’t even give this entry a second thought,” the elated winner said when a lotto official called to confirm his windfall.
The realization of his win brought a mix of shock and excitement.
“It’s crazy to think that I almost didn’t realise, hey!
“When I saw all of these numbers pop up on the screen I nearly fell over.
“The shock hasn’t quite subsided either so I’m feeling jittery.
“It’s tough going out there for everyone at the minute. I can’t wait to set my family up for the future and buy our first home.
“It’s something we’ve been scrimping and saving for so this is a huge help.
“What a way to start the week!”
Her winning 50-game QuickPick entry was purchased online from the official lotto website.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4447 on 2 March 2024 were 19, 15, 18, 30, 5 and 8, while the supplementary numbers were 7 and 26.
