Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff will visit Auckland, New Zealand from July 19 to July 23. On behalf of President Biden, the Second Gentleman will lead the Presidential Delegation to the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. He will also attend Team USA's first match against Vietnam. In addition to World Cup events and engagements with Team USA, the Second Gentleman will highlight U.S.-New Zealand shared values and priorities through his engagements with civil society representatives in New Zealand, including private sector leaders, community leaders, and students. The Second Gentleman will deliver remarks to young women and girls as part of a panel discussion on gender equity and women in sports. Alongside Special Envoy for the Christchurch Call Rt Hon Dame Jacinda Ardern, the Second Gentleman will convene a roundtable of community leaders to discuss combating hate and promoting tolerance and interfaith dialogue. The Second Gentleman will also meet with U.S. Consulate Auckland staff. Additional details on the Second Gentleman's engagements will be forthcoming.
