A high priority target for the Operation Whiskey Legion deployment to the Wide Bay Burnett district has been arrested and charged after hiding in bushland.
It is alleged the man was considered a high-risk offender for a number of serious domestic violence offences.
Police executed searches of multiple properties on August 4 to locate a 39-year-old Norville man but were unsuccessful, however further investigations led police to search bushland at Coonarr Beach.
Assisted by specialist police, including the Dog Squad, the man was found hiding in bushes and arrested without incident.
The man has been charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, one count of evasion offence and five domestic violence offences including rape and deprivation of liberty.
He was later also charged with four counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of evasion offence at night, wilful damage, stealing and fail to take reasonable care and precautions in respect of syringe or needle.
He has been refused police bail and is due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on August 6.
In a separate incident, another man has been charged with 11 firearm, drug and child exploitation material offences after a search warrant executed as part of Operation Whiskey Legion.
Specialist police executed a search warrant on a Booyal property on August 2, where they allegedly found quantities of drugs, a hydroponic set up, several insecure firearms and ammunition and child exploitation material.
A 43-year-old Booyal man has been charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of producing dangerous drugs, possess utensils or pipes etc that has been used, possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in Part 2, unlawful possession of weapons, secure storage of weapons - licensee, fail to correctly store explosives, using internet to procure children under 16, distributing child exploitation material, and possession child exploitation material.
He is due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on August 23.
This is one of 23 search warrants executed in the Wide Bay Burnett district since August 1 under Operation Whiskey Legion.
The multilevel operation is currently saturating the area and joining forces with local officers to target a range of crime issues.
As the Operation enters its sixth day, 223 people have been arrested on 789 charges.
