Witness appeal for serious collision on West Gate

Southbank police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Port Melbourne this afternoon.

It is believed a white Ford tray ute collided with the barriers and four other vehicles in the outbound lanes of the West Gate Bridge just before 4.30pm.

The driver and sole occupant of the Ford sustained head injuries in the crash. Fortunately, no other people were seriously injured.

The 50-year-old man from Caroline Springs was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
