The Northern Territory Police Force are calling for witnesses in relation to a domestic violence incident that occurred in Alice Springs overnight.
At 11.15pm, police responded to reports that a female had been stabbed in the neck by a male known to her at a residence in Gillen.
St John Ambulance attended and provided first aid to the victim, before conveying her to hospital with injuries to her neck and back.
The 56-year-old male offender was arrested, and a crime scene was established on Bloomfield Street.
The victim remains in hospital in a stable condition and investigations are ongoing.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to call police on 131 444 and quote reference P25024697. Anonymous reports can also be made through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
