A woman has been arrested after assaulting police at Elizabeth North yesterday.
Just before 2.15pm on Monday 29 April, Police were called to a hotel on Woodford Road after reports a woman had damaged a vehicle in the carpark and left the scene.
A short time later, the same woman approached a Mazda SUV which was stationary at the intersection of Main North Road and Midway Road and threw a brick towards the vehicle.
The woman then attempted to get into the car before headbutting the driver's window. The driver and occupants locked their doors and the woman walked off. Thankfully they were not injured.
Police searched the area and located the woman on Yorktown Road.
It will be alleged that when attempting to arrest the woman, she violently resisted and assaulted the two officers biting them on the hand and forearm. Further patrols were called to assist where a third officer was assaulted and the woman was arrested.
Both officers who were bitten were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries and have since been released. The third officer is seeking medical treatment this morning.
The 24-year-old woman from Davoren Park has been charged with three counts of assault emergency worker cause harm, three counts of hinder police, damage, vehicle interference, carry offensive weapon, and throw missile.
She has been refused police bail and will appear before the Elizabeth Magistrates Court this morning, Tuesday 30 April.
