Woman assaulted and robbed at truck stop near Mildura, NSW

Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted and robbed while parked at a truck stop near Mildura today, NSW Police say.

About 3pm today (Friday 19 October 2018), a 44-year-old woman stopped a truck on Silver City Highway, Curlwaa, about 20km north of Mildura, Victoria, when she was confronted by two women.

One of the unknown women entered the truck and took a computer bag containing money.

A struggle ensued and the victim was struck to the head before the offenders fled the scene in a dark green Hyundai Excel.

A third person, believed to be male, remained in the car during the incident.

The woman reported the matter to Barrier Police District officers, who launched an investigation.

She was taken by NSW Ambulance paramedics to Mildura Base Hospital in Victoria for treatment to a suspected fractured cheekbone.

Police would like to speak to three people who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first woman is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 170cm tall, with black hair.

The second woman and the man have been described to police only as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance.

Anyone with information that can assist investigators is urged to come forward.
