Woman Charged After Moonee Ponds, Kensington Stabbings

Moonee Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a woman who allegedly stabbed a man in Moonee Ponds and another man in Kensington yesterday.

Officers were called to reports a woman was armed with a knife inside a business on Puckle Street about 11am.

It is alleged the woman stabbed a 74-year-old man, before she fled the scene towards Hall Street.

The Avondale Heights man remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The same woman then allegedly stabbed a 25-year-old man who was riding his bike on Racecourse Road about 1pm.

He sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The 46-year-old woman was later arrested at a property on Lambeth Street in Kensington.

She has been charged with intentionally cause serious injury, stalking and intentionally cause injury.

The Kensington woman has been remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.
