A woman has been charged following a serious crash in Sydney's southwest earlier this month.
About 11.30pm Monday 11 November 2024, emergency services were called to the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Jersey Road, Wentworthville, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and found two cars and a semi-trailer truck had collided.
The passenger of a Toyota hatch, a 24-year-old man, was trapped for a substantial time where police rendered first aid before he was freed by Fire and Rescue NSW.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains.
The driver of the hatch, a 21-year-old woman, was trapped for a short time before being freed by Fire & Rescue NSW.
She was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the Hyundai hatch was uninjured.
The driver of the truck, a 43-year-old man, was uninjured.
A crime scene was established, and an investigation commences with the assistance of the Crash Investigation Unit and Forensic Imaging Unit.
Following inquiries, about 10.20am today (Sunday 24 November 2024), a 21-year-old woman presented to Springwood Police Station and was arrested and charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous and negligent driving (occasioning grievous bodily harm). Her licence was also suspended.
She was granted conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 15 January 2025.
