A woman will face court today after allegedly assaulting a police officer at a courthouse.
About 2pm yesterday (Wednesday 3 July 2024) a senior constable was entering Wyong Local Court when she was allegedly assaulted by a 35-year-old woman.
Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended a short time later and arrested the 35-year-old woman.
She was taken to Wyong Police Station, where she was charged with assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
She has been refused bail to appear before Gosford Local Court today (Thursday 4 July 2024).
The police officer is seeking medical treatment for her injuries.
