Woman Charged for Drug Manufacture in Port Macquarie

A woman will face court today charged over the alleged manufacture of a prohibited drug at Port Macquarie.

About 10am yesterday (Wednesday 7 August 2024), police from the Coffs Harbour Region Enforcement Squad - assisted by the Mid North Coast Police District - executed a search warrant at a property on Bourne Street, Port Macquarie.

During the search, police allegedly located and seized several items of interest including psilocybin, steroids, a firearm, ammunition and drug-related paraphernalia.

Police will allege in court that the premises was being used for the illegal manufacture and supply of psilocybin.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where she was charged with:

  • Two counts of possess prohibited drug
  • Manufacture prohibited drug (greater than or equal to large commercial quantity)
  • Supply prohibited drug (greater than or equal to large commercial quantity)
  • Possess unauthorised pistol
  • Not keep firearm safely
  • Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority

She was refused bail to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court today (Thursday 8 August 2024).
