Woman Charged for Drug Supply in Parklea Prison

A woman will face court today charged with allegedly attempting to deliver prohibited drugs inside a correctional facility in Sydney's northwest.

Yesterday (Wednesday 2 July 2024), officers from Riverstone Police Area Command were called to a correctional facility at Parklea, after alleged contraband was seized from a woman visiting as a legal professional.

During a further search of the woman, officers allegedly located and seized six small balloons containing tobacco, methylamphetamine, cocaine and buprenorphine.

The 33-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station where she was charged with unlawfully bring anything into place of detention, supply prohibited drug - indictable quantity, and two counts of supply prohibited drug.

She was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court today (Wednesday 3 July 2024).
