A woman has been charged after allegedly threatening NSW Ambulance paramedics in Sydney's Inner West yesterday.
About 8.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 4 December 2024) emergency services were called to a home on National Street, Rozelle, following reports of a concern for welfare.
On arrival, NSW Ambulance paramedics spoke to a woman, who became aggressive towards the two officers and threatened them with a knife.
The officers retreated from the home and contacted police.
Officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command attended and attempted to speak to the woman; however, she allegedly failed to leave the premises.
A police operation ensued, including specialist police from the Tactical Operations Unit and Police Negotiators.
About 11.20pm, the woman was arrested without incident and taken to Newtown Police Station.
The 50-year-old woman was charged with two counts of use etc offensive weapon intent to commit indictable offence and two counts of intimidate frontline health worker-no actual bodily harm.
She was refused bail and will appear at Downing Centre Local Court today (Thursday 5 December 2024).
