Woman Charged in $700K Queanbeyan Fraud Case

A woman from the state's south has been charged with offences relating to an alleged fraud involving more than $700,000.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District were notified in October 2023, of alleged fraud involving an employee at a Queanbeyan-based business.

A 42-year-old woman was arrested when she attended Queanbeyan Police Station about 9am yesterday (Wednesday 9 October 2024).

She's been charged with five counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception and three counts of steal property as clerk/servant more than $15,000

She was granted conditional bail to appear in Queanbeyan Local Court on Monday 21 October 2024.

Police will allege in court the woman fraudulently stole more than $736,000 from her employer.
