Woman Charged in Fatal Dapto Pedestrian Crash

A woman has been charged following a fatal pedestrian crash in the Illawarra earlier this year.

About 10.45am on Tuesday 28 May 2024, emergency services were called to Lakelands Drive, Dapto, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

Members of the public and police officers commenced CPR, before the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, the 74-year-old man was unable to be revived.

The driver – a 27-year-old woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for shock.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, on Wednesday 16 October 2024, a 27-year-old woman was issued with a court attendance notice for negligent driving (occasioning death) and negligent driving.

She will appear in Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 5 March 2025.
