Detectives from Taskforce Icarus yesterday charged a woman as part of an investigation into alleged cocaine trafficking in Melbourne.
A 43-year-old Niddrie woman was arrested at her home address yesterday morning and then interviewed by police.
She was subsequently charged with attempting to possess a commercial quantity of a border controlled drug - cocaine.
The woman was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 14 August.
The investigation commenced in December last year after information was provided to Victoria Police by the ABF.
Police also previously seized 8kg of cocaine as part of the investigation, which remains ongoing.
The Taskforce Icarus is responsible for targeting and disrupting the importation and supply of illicit drugs, primarily via the mail system.
