A woman has been charged over a glassing in Sydney’s south west, NSW Police say.
About 8.20pm yesterday (Friday 3 November 2017), a 31-year-old woman and a 46-year-old woman, who were not known to each other, were involved in a verbal exchange at a licensed premises on Riverside Drive, Airds.
About 8.30pm, the older woman was in the beer garden of the hotel when she was approached by the younger woman.
The 46-year-old then allegedly struck the 31-year-old in the face with a schooner glass, causing a significant wound.
Police were called and attended, establishing a crime scene.
The older woman was arrested at the scene.
The victim had left prior to police arrival. Police attended her address and she was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment to the facial wound, which will require surgery.
The 46-year-old woman was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with reckless wounding.
She was granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 27 November 2017.
