Woman Charged South Of Border, Down Mildura Way

Police have charged a woman following an alleged pursuit across the border of Victoria and New South Wales yesterday.

Officers spotted a black Mazda SUV on Cavallo Street in Mildura about 1pm.

The Mazda allegedly sped off from police, clipping a police vehicle.

It is alleged the vehicle drove on the wrong side of the road and on the footpath.

A woman allegedly attempted to flee from the Mazda in Red Cliffs, however officers swiftly moved in and arrested her.

The male driver allegedly continued across the border, where NSW Police successfully deployed stop sticks and arrested the man.

A 41-year-old Mildura woman has been charged, by Victoria Police, with multiple counts of theft, fail to stop vehicle on police direction, damage to emergency vehicle by reckless driving, reckless exposure to police officer to risk by driving, unlicensed driving and other driving offences.

She was remanded to appear before Mildura Magistrate's Court on 18 November.
