A woman will face court charged with drug supply following an investigation in Wellington and Dubbo.
About 10.40am on Sunday 28 July 2024, a correctional centre in Wellington conducted visitor searches when the drug detection dog allegedly indicated a positive indication on a woman where 15 buprenorphine strips were seized. The woman was released pending further investigation.
About 6.50pm on Tuesday 6 August 2024, a woman attended Dubbo Base Hospital and secreted 20 buprenorphine strips in a public toilet. A corrections officer attended and seized the drugs.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were notified of the incidents and commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, about 11.40am yesterday (Tuesday 3 September 2024), a 35-year-old woman attended Dubbo Police Station and was arrested.
She was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug.
The woman was given conditional bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 9 October 2024.
