A woman will face court today over a domestic violence offence in state's north.
Just after 1.45pm on Wednesday (10 July 2024), police were called to an address in Casino following reports of an alleged domestic violence.
Officers attached to Richmond Police District were told a 34-year-old man and a four-year-old girl were allegedly assaulted by a woman about 4am on the same day at an address in Goonellabah.
The man and the girl left the premises following the alleged assault and the girl was taken to Casino Hospital for treatment to facial injuries.
The man was also taken to the same hospital for treatment to injuries to his hand.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 27-year-old woman at an address on McDermott Avenue, Goonellabah, about 6.30pm.
She was taken to Lismore Police Station where she was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV) and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm.
She was refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court today (Thursday 11 July 2024).
Inquiries have led police to believe the man and woman are known to eachother.
