Woman Charged With Racial Offense in Bankstown

A woman has been charged with intimidation offences following an incident in Bankstown last week.

About 4pm on Friday 20 December 2024, police attached to Bankstown Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports a woman was allegedly verbally abused and intimated at a shopping centre in Bankstown.

Following enquiries, about 5.45pm today (Sunday 22 December 2024) a 39-year-old woman was arrested at a home in Parramatta.

She was taken to Granville Police Station and charged with publicly threaten violence on grounds of religion, behave in offensive manner in / near public place / school, use offensive language in / near public place / school and stalk / intimidate intend fear physical harm.

She was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Monday 23 December 2024).
