Nunawading Highway Patrol are investigating a four-vehicle collision in Oakleigh on Monday.
It is believed a driver in a Mercedes sedan was travelling along Warrigal Road when they collided with a blue Nissan Micra about 12.15am.
The impact forced the second vehicle into two other cars.
The driver of the sedan, an 82-year-old Eltham woman, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to
hospital for treatment.
None of the drivers were injured.
The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
