Woman dies after collision at Coopernook

A woman has died following a collision in the state's north.

About 1pm today (Monday 15 February 2021), emergency services were called to the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Harrington Road, Coopernook following reports of a collision between a Toyota Corolla sedan and a Mitsubishi XD21 station wagon.

A 74-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Mitsubishi died at the scene.

The male driver and another male passenger from the Mitsubishi suffered minor injuries.

The female driver of the Toyota also suffered unknown injuries.

Both drivers have been taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officer from Kempsey Crash Investigation Unit attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

Inquiries are continuing.
