A woman has died in a multi-vehicle crash south-west of Lismore.
Emergency services were called to the Bruxner Highway at Loftville, about 7km south-west of Lismore, after a southbound Mazda 2 hatchback and a northbound truck and trailer collided head-on.
Police commenced CPR on the female driver of the car; however, she died at the scene. The woman is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in her 50s.
The male truck driver was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries, before being taken to Lismore Base Hospital for mandatory testing.
A third vehicle – a Mazda CX-7 also travelling south – sustained minor damage as a result of the crash but the driver was not injured.
Officers attached to Richmond Police District have established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
