Woman Found After Snowy Mountains Search

Police will address the media following a six-day multi-agency search to locate a missing 48-year-old woman who was hiking in the Kosciuszko National Park.

The wide-scale search involved officers attached to Monaro Police District with assistance from the Police Rescue Unit, Mounted Unit, Dog Unit, PolAir, SES, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Westpac Life Saver 22 helicopter and Rural Fire Service volunteers and Cooma based helicopter. Members of the public also assisted.

About 4.50pm yesterday (Sunday 27 October 2024), the woman was located injured by a National Parks and Wildlife Service officer on the Nungar Creek Trail at Kiandra.
