Emergency services were called to a home in Glencoe Avenue, Werrington Country, about 4pm today (Tuesday 29 May 2018), after a woman was found inside with a neck injury, NSW Police say.
The woman in her 70s was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a laceration to her neck and was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene has been established while officers from Nepean Police Area Command investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police are unable to determine at this early stage whether the incident is suspicious or not.
