Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a fatal stabbing in Wangaratta last night.
It's alleged an altercation occurred at a Vincent Road address about 11.30pm.
The male victim was taken to hospital however died several hours later.
A 47-year-old Wangaratta woman was arrested and taken into custody where she will be interviewed in relation to the death.
Police will allege those involved were known to each other.
A crime scene has been established and detectives will investigate to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
