Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a serious crash in the state's south this afternoon that's left a woman with a suspected fractured leg and pelvis.
About 5.30pm (Monday 20 May 2019), a white Toyota Corolla, being driven by a 77-year-old woman, was stopped on Pyree Lane, Pyree, waiting to turn into a driveway.
A white Toyota RAV4, being driven by a 25-year-old woman, was travelling northbound along Pyree Lane when it collided with the rear of the stationary Corolla.
The impact has pushed the Corolla into the southbound lanes where it collided with a black RAV4 heading south.
The 77-year-old woman suffered significant injuries and was airlifted to St George Hospital for treatment to a suspected broken leg and pelvis.
The drivers of all vehicles were taken to hospital for mandatory testing and inquiries into the collision will continue by officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.
