Woman Reported Missing From Merrylands

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from Sydney's west.

Laite Tairewa, aged 46, a Fijian National, arrived in Australia on Saturday 15 June 2024, staying with friends at Merrylands.

When Laite was to be picked up by a friend on Saturday 22 June 2024 by a friend from the house, she was unable to be located.

When she was unable to be located or contacted, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Police and friends hold concerns for Laite's welfare due to her only being in the country a matter of weeks and does not know the area well.

She is described as being of Pacific Islander appearance, about 165-170cm tall, of large build, light brown complexion, with short black hair and brown eyes.

She may be making her was to Adelaide.
