Woman Serious After Crash - Greystanes

Police remain at the scene of a serious two-vehicle crash in Sydney's west.

About 10.20am today (Thursday 27 June 2024), emergency services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Ettalong Road, Greystanes.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 78-year-old woman, at the scene. She has been taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition. She was a front seat passenger in the sedan.

The male driver of the vehicle was also conveyed to the same hospital for minor injuries.

There were no reports of any other injuries.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command have established a crime scene and are awaiting the arrival of specialist police.

All westbound lanes of the Great Western Highway remain closed with local traffic diversions in place. Diversions are expected to remain for a considerable amount of time as inquiries continue. Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
