Wyndham City is delighted to be hosting a special evening event on Friday 7 March celebrating the annual International Women's Day for local businesses.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said: "In honour of the IWD 2025 theme, our Women in Business cocktail event will focus on 'March Forward: Culture, Creativity and Business'.
"The event is expected to attract 200 guests from our local diverse business community who are invited to learn, connect and be inspired by the program line-up".
The program features guest speakers, sister duo Fatuma and Laurinda Ndenzako - co-founders of The Collective Closets, a Melbourne fashion label that isn't just part of Australian fashion, they're helping reshape it.
The couple were also mentors to Wyndham's Wearable Art and Fashion Incubator Program.
The evening will also present a showcase of Wyndham's cultural design, a live magical performance by members of the Inner West Symphony Orchestra, and local hospitality within the grand surrounds of Lancemore Mansion Hotel's forecourt.
Additionally, for the first time, Council's IWD Women in Business and the Tapestry of Culture Showcase events will both feature in the PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival Independent Program 2025.
The IWD Women in Business event will feature a collection of wearable art pieces from the Tapestry of Culture Showcase at the Immigration Museum.
Designers, including 11 local artists, participated in Wyndham's 15-week Wearable Art and Fashion Incubator Program.
The collection celebrates the beauty and significance of clothing across diverse cultures through the universal language of fashion.
