Hobsons Bay women who want to champion gender equity are encouraged to apply for a new women's advisory group.
The group will explore programs, services, resources and ways for women to connect, as well as helping Council design and plan a suite of initiatives that respond to issues affecting women in Hobsons Bay.
While it is not a decision-making or financial committee, it will bring together local knowledge, expertise and networks to contribute ideas and contacts, and guide engagement with the community.
Women can express interest in joining the advisory group at Participate Hobsons Bay. Applications close on Tuesday 6 August 2024.
Establishing the advisory group is part of Council's commitment to addressing gender inequity and the drivers of violence against women, girls and people of gender diverse identity.
Hobsons Bay City Council is a signatory of the Victorian Local Government Women's Charter, committing to the principles of gender equity, diversity and active citizenship.
