The Albanese Labor Government is delivering for all women and girls by investing in economic equality, healthcare, and safety.
These investments over three years are outlined in the 2025-26 Women's Budget Statement, which outlines key government investments across a range of areas.
Because of these investments, women are earning on average $217 more a week than they were in May 2022.
Australian women will also benefit from two more tax cuts that Labor is delivering in 2026 and 2027.
Women are already taking home on average $700 a year more than they would have received under the Coalition's Stage 3 Tax Cuts, and the two new income tax cuts delivered in this Budget will provide even more support.
The Women's Budget Statement shows how this Government - Australia's first majority woman government - has made significant and tangible progress to improve the lives of Australian women and girls. Key investments include:
- The gender pay gap has fallen to 11.9 per cent - accompanied by record high workforce participation rates for women - thanks to over $21.5 billion invested in wages for female dominated industries over this term of government,
- Almost $800 million to deliver more choice, lower costs and better healthcare for women like cheaper access to IUDs, getting more contraceptives and menopause treatments on the PBS, and delivering more endometriosis and pelvic pain clinics across the country,
- More than $4 billion invested to address violence against women,
- $6.2 billion invested to deliver cheaper childcare and a legislated 3-day childcare guarantee,
- 10 days of paid family and domestic violence leave,
- Expanding government paid parental and including superannuation on PPL,
- And over $60 million to boost training and work opportunities for women in sectors that will help deliver the Future Made in Australia.
These achievements over the last three years have been possible because of the central role of gender equality in government decision-making under this government.
