Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Wooramel (approximately 119kms south of Carnarvon) this morning, Sunday 4 December 2022.
About 1.10am a DAF truck towing two trailers was travelling north on the North West Coastal Highway, and a Mercedes Benz truck also towing two trailers was travelling south on the North West Coastal Highway when they were involved in a collision.
The driver of the DAF truck, a 36-year-old man, was taken to the Carnarvon Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver and passenger of the Mercedes Benz truck, both men in their 30s, received critical injuries as a result of the crash and died at the scene.
