Work at an Election

Conducting an election is a major public event, with around five million electors voting across NSW during major elections.

The NSW Electoral Commission offers opportunities to work at state and local government elections. Positions are available on election day and throughout the election period, which includes the weeks before and after election day.

Working at an election is a great way to learn new skills, meet people, and contribute to democracy. The Commission seeks staff to work as election officials during the election period. Training, support, and competitive pay are provided.

Eligibility: To be eligible, you must be:

  • At least 18 years old
  • An Australian citizen
  • Available to work on election day and/or during the election period
