Working together with WA Police to stop hoons

The City of Swan is working with WA Police to address hooning and anti-social behaviour, and boost community safety in and around Gidgegannup.

The City has installed a mobile tower CCTV unit on the intersection of Clenton and Berry Road, and WA Police have increased patrols in the area.

These actions were implemented following reports from local residents of regular hooning and anti-social behaviour, particularly in the evening.

The City referred these reports to local police and developed a plan of action to address the issue and implement CCTV surveillance in the area.

Within a week of increasing patrols, WA Police officers reported charging and seizing the vehicle of a hoon driver caught in the area.

The mobile tower CCTV unit will help deter hoon behaviour and provide the City with greater capability to assist local police in collecting evidence of criminal activity for post-incident investigations.
