WASHINGTON, Jul. 30, 2024-World Bank Group President Ajay Banga today announced the appointment of Radoslava "Radi" Anguelova as World Bank Group Vice President for Human Resources.
"Radi is a critical piece of the puzzle in our drive toward impact and scale. She will help the World Bank Group feed our culture, and recruit, retain, and develop our team," Banga said. "Our focus is on strengthening a culture of decency and empowering each individual to do the best work of their lives. Radi's experience and knowledge make her the perfect person to lead this charge."
Radi Anguelova's appointment comes at a pivotal moment, as the World Bank Group undertakes operational changes that are making it more efficient and effective in addressing the world's most pressing development challenges. Ensuring our people and culture are aligned to deliver on those ambitions is a pillar of the transformation strategy.
Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Radi Anguelova was the Chief Human Resources Officer at Swarovski and a member of the Swarovski Executive Committee, where she helped the company deliver on their customer promise through agile talent solutions. She built effective organizational structures and led culture transformation to improve organizational health, drive sustainable growth, and strengthen business value.
She also brings extensive experience from her previous roles with IBM, the Coca-Cola Company, and Ecolab. She has lived and worked in eight countries on four continents during her career and has a track record of building effective organizational capabilities and pipelines of local leaders with global skills and mindsets.
Radi Anguelova is a Bulgarian national and has a master's degree in psychology from the University in Sofia and a post-graduate diploma in Social Psychology from Oxford University.
