The Star Wars galaxy will no longer be far, far away - with the Allan Labor Government announcing it has secured the blockbuster world premiere of the LEGO Star Wars: The Exhibition.
Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos today joined Ryan 'Brickman' McNaught to announce the Labor Government has secured the world premiere and the Australian exclusive, to open at Melbourne Museum on May the fourth.
Bringing together two iconic universes in one unforgettable display, the exhibition is being built by Brickman - the LEGO Masters host and Australia's only LEGO Certified Professional, one of just 23 worldwide.
The exhibit will include the first life-sized LEGO Star Wars exhibition figure - the iconic X-Wing RED-5, which is made up of 64,759 bricks, taking 382 build hours.
The exhibition will be the largest touring LEGO brick exhibition in the universe, with more than eight million LEGO bricks and more than 25,000 hours of building and will be made in Melbourne at Brickman's Tullamarine headquarters.
The immersive experience is expected to draw thousands of visitors and is part of a blockbuster calendar of major events across Victoria next year - including the Australian Open, the men's and women's Ashes and the NGV's French Impressionism exhibition.
This galactic wonder is the latest superstar attraction at Melbourne Museum, which this year wowed visitors with Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition and Victoria the T Rex. Victoria's cultural institutions continue to deliver world-class events for the whole family.
Tickets for the exhibition go on sale in early 2025. To join the ticket waitlist, visit the Melbourne Museum website.
