A man has been charged following a large disturbance at a licensed premises in Laidley overnight which resulted in a number of people sustaining injuries.
It will be alleged around 11.50pm on January 14, a 23-year-old man became involved in a physical altercation with another patron at a licenced premises on Patrick Street.
It is further alleged the man then turned on another male patron who attempted to intervene, picking up a nearby wooden implement and striking him with it, causing the implement to break.
A number of other people then became involved in the disturbance, resulting in a glass door being smashed.
A security officer then restrained the 23-year-old man and attempted to remove him from the premises while he allegedly continued to resist before assaulting the staff member.
The man then broke free and went back into the business where he went into the kitchen and allegedly assaulted another staff member who attempted to restrain him, before grabbing a knife.
Several other people entered the kitchen and attempted to intervene, resulting in the man allegedly stabbing a 26-year-old man in the hand.
The man then allegedly lunged at others which then escalated into a physical altercation where a 31-year-old man was stabbed in the arm.
Police attended the scene and restrained the 23-year-old man in the kitchen, who allegedly continued to resist arrest.
A woman and two men were transported to hospital with various non-life-threatening injuries.
The 23-year-old Laidley North man has since been charged with one count each of wounding, assault occasioning bodily harm, wilful damage, obstruct police, enter premises to commit indictable offence, fail to leave licensed premises, commit public nuisance and stealing.
He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday (January 17).
Investigations are continuing.
