Police have charged a 32-year-old Southport man following an alleged unlawful wounding incident that occurred yesterday, March 9.
It will be alleged shortly after 8.30am, the man approached a 21-year-old woman not known to him along Hooker Boulevard.
The man started a conversation with the woman before allegedly producing a knife and wounding the woman.
He then left the scene on foot.
The 21-year-old woman sustained non-life-threatening wounds to her neck and shoulder and was transported to Robina Hospital.
Police located and arrested the man in Miami last night.
The man has been charged with one count each of unlawful stalking, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of a knife in a public place, possessing dangerous drugs, failure to properly dispose of syringe, possession of utensils for use, and unlawful possession of weapons (knuckleduster).
He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, March 11.
