Today the US Government released its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), our country's climate plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. In response, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) issued the following statement from Marcene Mitchell, WWF senior vice president of climate change:
"This roadmap builds on our progress and accelerates our path towards preventing the worst of climate change. It sets the stage for states, local governments and businesses that are ready to take the baton and lead the transformation we urgently need.
"This is a national guide for confronting climate change and its growing impacts in the coming decades. By harnessing the power of nature, we can protect communities, restore ecosystems and transform our energy and food systems to help achieve our climate ambitions.
"We will continue to work tirelessly with our partners to meet these economy-wide targets and ensure continued American leadership within the global community."
