The Allan Labor Government is supporting young people in Wyndham with a newly refurbished Youth Hub providing tailored services and community connections.
Minister for Youth Natalie Suleyman today visited Wyndham City Council to open the new Wyndham Youth Services at Hoppers Crossing, which received $150,000 through the 2022/23 Youth Hubs Grant Program.
Wyndham Youth Services has been open since 2003 and provides a multi-use space for young people aged 12-25 to access counselling, employment support and sport and recreation programs.
It also offers a safe and welcoming space for young people to come together, network and learn, with other youth service providers in the municipality now in the same building.
Co-designed by young people to ensure the space is safe, appropriate, and tailored to their needs, the refurbishment has included upgrades to consulting rooms, the foyer and commercial kitchen and a dedicated multipurpose sensory space.
The Youth Hubs Grant Program was funded as part of the Labor Government's five-year Youth Strategy 'Our promise, Your future' to upgrade and develop youth hubs in outer metropolitan Melbourne.
