Wyndham's Young Person Of Month 4 September

Wyndham City is proud to announce Isabella Scott as the One Wyndham recipient for September.

Isabella actively contributes to the Wyndham community through numerous volunteering activities that make a positive impact.

Isabella uses her sewing skills creatively to help others and is part of the Wyndham Patchworkers group that meets every second and fourth Saturday of the month to contribute to a range of community projects.

Those projects include making quilts, blankets and other items for people facing housing insecurity to sewing pencil cases for the children that were involved in a school bus crash at Exford Primary School. As well, she makes tote bags for Uniting Wyndham Winter Food Drive 2024.

Isabella proudly raised more than $2,000 for the Kids with Cancer Foundation to support kids with cancer and their families through proactively approaching community organisations and initiating a container deposit event at her school to reach her fundraising goal.

She is passionate about the environment and participating in community activities that work towards a sustainable future, by using her sewing skills to upcycle items, volunteering her time to the Love Our Street 3024, collecting rubbish and making a positive impact by participating in Tree Planting days.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Jennie Barrera, said: "Isabella is a positive role model and makes a wonderful contribution to the Wyndham community."

"Wyndham City thanks Isabella for her effort and dedication to help others and give back to the community through her various community projects."

One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 to 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.

Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the 'Young Person of the Month'.

Winners are awarded a $300 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.
