Wyndham's Young Person Of Month 8 August

Wyndham City is proud to announce Prisha Nayak as the One Wyndham recipient for August.

Prisha is a positive role model and actively contributes to the Wyndham community through numerous volunteering activities.

Prisha dedicates her time to tutoring students at Truganina Community Centre. She assists and supports students to achieve their academic best in a positive learning environment.

Prisha also volunteers every Saturday at Baha'i Children's Classes, where she inspires and fosters moral and spiritual development in children and encourages positive character development, instils values of unity and a sense of community.

She has excellent public speaking skills and was the 2024 WynSpeak winner, achieving first place in WynSpeak Heat 2 where she showcased her public speaking and communication skills and advocated for youth empowerment and expression.

Prisha is passionate about the environment and raising awareness of environmental sustainability and climate action. She successfully led a school project to raise funds for local environmental initiatives.

Prisha has initiated and organised a number of fundraisers for community projects.

As well as raising funds for important projects she has also fostered a sense of inclusivity and teamwork in the community.

She is currently studying VET course - Community Services II. She has an interest in social entrepreneurship and aims to create a sustainable impact through innovative ventures.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Jennie Barrera, said: "Prisha makes an active contribution to the Wyndham community through her dedication and commitment to education. Helping students to achieve their academic potential through tutoring and promoting literacy."

One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 to 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.

Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the 'Young Person of the Month'.

Winners are awarded a $300 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.
