Minister for Business, Industry and Resources, Eric Abetz, said that the Tasmanian Government will continue to back in our job-rich business, industry and resource sectors.

"Throughout 2024, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that opportunity and prosperity remain at the forefront for all Tasmanians," Minister Abetz said.

"Our Liberal Government has prioritised the creation of an environment where businesses can not only survive, but thrive.

"By simplifying processes and adopting a forward-thinking approach, 2024 has been a strong year for Tasmanian business and industry.

"We have stood firm in our support of the thousands of families who depend on Tasmania's sustainable salmon industry.

"We have facilitated key partnerships, enabling leading Tasmanian companies like Incat to expand their operations, securing well paid, long-term jobs for Tasmanians.

"To future-proof and stimulate economic growth in our vital mining sector, we continued our successful Exploration Drilling Grant Initiative, and launched the Tasmanian Critical Minerals Strategy supported by a $3 million investment, driving investment across the State.

"Our sustainable, world-class forestry sector remains a cornerstone of economic activity, creating jobs and supporting communities across Tasmania.

"We secured a mandate for a package of policies which will provide new funding to grow on-island processing, provide supply for Tasmanian processors and back in our iconic special species sector.

"We have had a huge year here in Tasmania – and we will proudly continue this strong work in the best interests of all Tasmanians."
