Gold Coasters are being urged to have their say on an updated design of central Surfers Paradise aimed at creating more open space and greenery.
The new plans for The Esplanade create a pedestrian-friendly space for 250 metres between Hanlan Street and the Soul building, allowing for a greater connection between Cavill Mall and the beach.
Division 10 councillor Darren Taylor said the revised design was informed by community feedback which strongly supported more shade, greenery and public open space.
"The Surfers Paradise Revitalisation Project reimagines the heart of the suburb and the updated design incorporates what the community wants," Cr Taylor said.
"We have listened to what you said and this design has more shade, greenery and public open space.
"The updated design focuses on transforming the central precinct into a pedestrian-friendly zone to enhance safety, accessibility and visitor experience.
"This new space will be used for recreational and community activities, as well as small and large-scale events."
The City has committed $100 million for the project to help revitalise Cavill Mall, Cavill Avenue and The Esplanade.
The feedback will be used to inform the next steps of the project.
Consultation opens on Tuesday 8 April and closes on Monday 28 April.
