Kingston children are reaching across the generations to spread festive joy.
The children, from City of Kingston's Family Day Care and Outside School Hours programs, have been making personalised Christmas cards and art works for residents of local aged care facilities.
The youngsters have connected with Mercy Place (Corben, Northcliffe and Nixon), Blue Cross Gardenia in Chelsea, Parkdale Lifestyle and Blue Cross Chelsea Manor for the warm-hearted festive community project.
Educators say the children understand that Christmas can be an isolating and lonely time for some.
So, they committed to bringing happiness to older community members through their own hand-crafted pieces – all made with lots of love.
Over the past few weeks, they've created beautiful cards and art containing heartfelt messages for more than 270 residents.
These will be hand-delivered to each of the aged care homes by a representative from the programs in the week before Christmas.
