Young Victorians Leading Way

VIC Premier

The Allan Labor Government is backing the next generation of leaders, with 10 new members joining the 2025 Victorian Youth Congress to help shape a better future for young people across Victoria.

Minister for Youth Natalie Suleyman today met with the 2025 Victorian Youth Congress, who are ready to lift up the voices of young people across the state and influence decision-makers.

The group of 20 passionate young Victorians - aged 12 to 25 - will deliver youth-led projects, provide advice to government, and make sure the voices of young people are heard on the issues that matter most.

Members are drawn from across Melbourne and regional Victoria and reflect the diversity of Victorians including First Nations people, LGBTIQA+, multicultural and multifaith communities, and people with disability.

More than 150 people applied for the positions, and the ten new members join ten existing members for a second year, continuing their work on key initiatives under the Labor Governments Our Promise, Your Future strategy.

The Labor Government's Victorian Youth Congress will continue to lead the promotion of YouthNav, an online life skills toolkit created by young people, to help Victorians navigating everyday challenges - from managing money and finding a job, to moving out of home.

As stated by Minister for Youth Natalie Suleyman

"These young leaders aren't waiting to be heard - they're stepping up, speaking out and driving change for their communities."

"We're proud to support them as they take action and make sure the voices of young Victorians are at the heart of decisions that affect them."
