Police have charged a 30-year-old man from Youngtown with multiple firearm and drug related offences following a vehicle intercept and multiple searches yesterday.
Police will allege they intercepted the man driving a vehicle of interest in the Launceston CBD area.
Officers from the Northern Drugs and Firearms Unit searched the vehicle, where they will allege they located and seized a homemade explosive device.
Subsequently police searched an address linked to the man, where they will further allege they located a quality of suspected illicit substances, firearm parts, and several weapons including pepper spray and knuckledusters.
The man was charged with offence including 5x unlawfully possess dangerous article in a public place, and multiple drug and firearm related offences.
He was remanded to appear before the Launceston Magistrates Court today.
