From international transport to rural education, ESA Business Applications is enabling data from satellites to transform businesses on Earth. Over €200m has already been invested in more than 500 businesses launching innovative Space-based services.

The University of Nottingham is delighted to announce that it is hosting the ESA Business Applications Regional Ambassador Platform for the Midlands and North East England (RAP-MNE).

ESA Business Applications is open to innovative developments from all types of company and it supports applications in any sector that address user-driven needs. One of the current open calls is for projects utilising space technology to help the UK on COVID-19 and other pandemics.

Paul Singh Bhatia, General Manager of the Geospatial Research and Applications Centre of Excellence (GRACE) at the University of Nottingham, has taken on the role of ESA Business Applications Regional Ambassador for the Midlands and North-East region. He joins four other Regional Ambassadors for ESA Business Applications across the UK.

ESA Business Applications aims to show that Space is open for business and has the power to improve our everyday lives on Earth. It does this by helping companies to integrate Space data and technology into commercial services across a broad range of consumer markets.
